Easy Immune-Strengthening Meals for Back-to-School Wellness

The kids are heading back to school so their days will soon be filled with fun, learning and...germs. Consider rustling up these easy anti-oxidant-rich meals that include Sea Island Organics Elderberry Syrup to help your kiddos stay well this year. Easy Elderberry Overnight Oats

There are really only two ingredients needed to make hassle-free overnight oats - equal parts oats and your milk of choice. Adding elderberry syrup, fresh fruit, spices, nuts and raw honey takes this no-cook meal to the next taste and nutrition level. We choose blueberries or blackberries, or other fruits that are rich in anti-oxidants, when we want an extra immune strengthening boost. Our delicious and beneficial Elderberry Syrup is the "cherry on top!" 

  • 1/4 cup blueberries - frozen or fresh, organic
  • 1/2 cup oats - sprouted, organic
  • 1/2 cup milk - your choice of dairy or nut milk, organic (we like preservative-free almond milk for the added protein)
  • 1/8 tsp. cinnamon or your spice blend of choice
  • 1 tsp. honey - raw, local
  • Sea Island Organics Elderberry Syrup -1 tsp. for babies/little ones or 1 Tbsp. for big kids/adults

Layer ingredients into your preferred jar in the order listed and cap tightly.

Refrigerate overnight (or at least 2 hours), then eat! 

*optional:  Add a sprinkle of granola or ground flax seeds just before eating for a lovely crunch!

Berry Good Smoothie

Berry Good Smoothies are a mix-and-match meal that's infinitely customizable, which is perfect for those with allergies and those shopping for seasonal fruit offerings at your local farmers market. 

Add to blender and mix well until smooth and creamy. 

*optional: add a 1/2 an avocado and 1/2 cup of sprouted oats a more filling and nutrient-dense meal

Yo Fave Yogurt Cups

Here's another easy and healthy mix-and-match meal that can change with the season. The probiotics in the yogurt help heal and create a healthy gut to better combat the germs.

  • 1 cup yogurt, organic
  • 1 cup fresh fruit, organic - choose an anti-oxidant-rich fruit like blueberries or blackberries
  • 1/2 cup granola, seed oil-free and organic
  • drizzle of raw local honey to taste 
  • Sea Island Organics Elderberry Syrup -1 tsp. for babies/little ones or 1 Tbsp. for big kids/adults

Assemble the ingredients in layers and enjoy!
